08 June 2016
Press Release

Stora Enso's outstanding commitment to occupational safety and health promotion was awarded with AUVA Alle!Achtung! award granted by Austrian Social Security Institute operating also 7 emergency hospitals in Austria.

The AUVA Alle!Achtung! award honours companies offering outstanding services in accident prevention and health promotion policy. Using measures such as the recently overhauled Safety Toolbox 2.0, Stora Enso works continuously towards ensuring an accident-free workplace.

Health and safety policies are alive and kicking

"Workplace safety and health protection are obviously of the utmost importance in a wood-processing company such as Stora Enso. It is vital to identify potential dangers together with our employees, and to reduce the accident rate to zero percent in the long term," says Herbert Jöbstl, Senior Vice President of Stora Enso Wood Products in Central Europe in connection to award ceremony.

Occupational safety is one of Stora Enso's most fundamental values, hence the development of the Safety Toolbox in 2011, a set of measures and practices to prevent accidents. In 2016, Stora Enso has launched its upgraded Safety Toolbox 2.0 - a reworked version based on feedback from business lines and plants.

With the introduction of these safety tools, the accident rate has already been reduced. The motto "Everybody home safe, every day" is designed to get the accident rate at Stora Enso down to zero percent in the long term.
