Natural durability

Great for exterior claddings and garden structures.

ThermoWood® by Stora Enso is a natural choice for end usages where long term durability and dimensional stability are desired. It is a great material for products affected by changing climate conditions, which have an influence on exterior claddings and garden structures. For the interiors, the attractive brown appearance and removal of resin makes the product a good choice for use in saunas, interior panels, furniture and flooring.

ThermoWood by Stora Enso is produced using high temperature and steam. Since no chemicals are added during the process ThermoWood contains only renewable substances. As a result of the ThermoWood process, the dimensional stability, biological durability and insulation properties are permanently improved. The properties are consistent throughout the entire cross-section.

The ThermoWood process is patented and the trademark is owned by the International ThermoWood Association.

ThermoWood Advanced (new)
Standard ThermoWood products are now available with an additional oil finish — Oiltreatment, an innovative wood treatment method developed by Stora Enso. The method combines the naturally good characteristics of ThermoWood with an oil treatment. Only sustainable, water-based wood treatment oils are used in the modification processes.

The Oiltreatment further improves the wood properties such weather resistance, colour stability and water repellency bringing versatile opportunities for wood in outdoor design and architecture. Therefore ThermoWood Advanced products are ideal for use in demanding conditions, such as decking, cladding and environmental construction as well as in ecologically sensitive end uses and public spaces.
